With over 30 years of work experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, Liz Akey, CMP founded EMA Marketing 16 years ago.
With her wealth of industry contacts and experience working for national tourist offices, convention and visitors bureaus, a five-star cruise line and operating a national sales office for Intrawest, Liz saw an opportunity to assist independent boutique hotels and luxury resorts to grow their corporate group and leisure business. We then expanded our services to assist DMC's and private luxury yachts through our strategic alliance partnership.
EMA is proud to represent these independent luxurious hotels and resorts. Liz personally inspects each property prior to adding it to our portfolio to ensure it fulfills our high standards of quality, service, and outstanding event capabilities.
Liz is delighted to add most recently The Artemia Group of Companies in St Maarten/ St Martin, and the
JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort & Spa in Costa Rica.

She is renowned for acting with the utmost integrity and professionalism, as reflected by our long-term relationships with meeting planners, luxury hotels worldwide and DMC's.
Liz continues to be an active member with SITE Canada (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence). She has been a member for 20 years and has held Executive and Board positions. Liz was also on the Board of Directors with MPI Toronto Chapter and has been on various committees for over 20 years. She has held her CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) designation since 2004, which required achieving a standard of excellence within her profession, as governed by the Convention Industry Council. Liz is also a member of SKAL.
